Autumn Themed Handmade Cards - Fall Leaves with Floating Frames #TeamTinyAutumnHop

Welcome to Cards By Kendra!   Today I'm sharing a few cards I made for the Team Tiny Facebook Group Autumn Themed Video Hop.   This particular video hop is taking place on YouTube on Saturday, September 26th at 10 am EST.  To view all of the videos from creators that are participating in the hop, just go to YouTube and type the hashtag #teamtinyautumnhop in the search bar.  The Team Tiny Facebook group was created to help small channels grow AND allow viewers to watch content AD-FREE (because YouTube does not show commercials on small channels).  This group is open to all crafters who create videos on Youtube that have less than 1k subscribers. If you would like to participate, please leave me a comment and I will let you know how to get involved.   When watching videos on Youtube, it is important that you like, comment, subscribe and share our videos so that Youtube will actively promote them.  For this month's theme (autumn), I ...

Interactive Rocket Card with Galaxy Background made with Distress Oxide Inks and MFT's Leaping Slider Dies #TeamTinyKatharineKelly1k Hop

Welcome to Cards by Kendra!  Today I'm super excited to share this Interactive Rocket Father's Day Card that I made for the Katharine Kelly 1k subscribers video hop for the Team Tiny group which is June 28, 2020!  It features a galaxy background made with Distress Oxide inks. It was inspired by a card that Katharine made in her video "We are Go for Launch! Coffee rocket with Galaxy Background" .   The Team Tiny group was founded by Katharine Kelly to help small YouTubers (like me) to grow their channels!   The Katharine Kelly 1k subscriber video hop is hashtag driven. The hashtag that appears in the title for each video can be activated to provide a complete list of this hops' participants. Please take the time to stop at each of the talented participants on the hop, leave a comment at each stop, and please consider subscribing. The more channels you leave comments on, the more chances you have to win from the many prizes available. Some prizes may only be ...

Card Designs for May 2020 Card Swaps for All Seasons Handmade Card Swaps

Welcome to a new "Cards by Kendra" blog post! Finally, the school year is winding down, thank goodness! Online teaching is definitely not what I thought it would be. With my limited amount of time due to working so much, I was only able to sign up for 5 swaps this month. I barely got those done, much less try out new card-making techniques and post on my blog weekly like I planned. But I wanted to share with you the cards that I made for this month's card swaps. The first swap was a color theme, yellow and blue.  I decided to try a floating flower frame technique. I stamped and die cut several different size flowers in both colors. I arranged them around a weathered wood patterned paper cut to 3.75" x 5" that was adhered to a white 110 lb. white cardstock base. Using Glad Press & Seal, I picked them up off of the paper to keep them in place. I flipped it over and added strips of 3D foam tape to the back of the flowers. Before removing the back strip,...

Stampin' Up Honey Bee "Meant to Bee" Embossed Handmade Card Tutorial Video

Welcome to a new "Cards by Kendra" blog post! Today, I'm excited to share this "Meant to Be" handmade card that I created a few weeks ago when schools were first cancelled due to the Corona virus pandemic.  I am a school teacher and we just started distance learning last week.  The two weeks before that, we were on Spring Break and then I had a somewhat easy week preparing to start teaching online.  I enjoyed making so many handmade cards and actually having time to learn some new techniques!  Since the kids officially started back, I've been working 12 hours each day. I've worked more from home as a teacher than I ever did while at school! It's been insane! So, I say all this to tell you that I haven't had time to finish my video and post it.  But today, I finally just made myself stop working and do something that I've been wanting to do.  I've got a lot more cards I want to share with you, so I'll be working on getting thos...

Thinking of You Handmade Card with Distress Oxide Ink Background and Embossed Rain

Welcome to a new "Cards by Kendra" blog post! Today, I'm excited to share this "Thinking of You" handmade card that I created during this crazy corona virus social distancing situation we're in.  I created this card for a card swap Facebook Group that I'm in "Card Swaps for All Seasons" and also enter it into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Whatever the Weather" .  The theme for the card swap is "Rainy Days".  I've been experimenting with Distress Oxide Inks lately and have been working on my ink blending skills.  I must've practiced blending on over a dozen pieces of cardstock.  At first, I was kind of freaking out because I invested in a ton of different colors and just couldn't get those harsh lines out.  But the more I did it, the better I got.  The background I used for this card was from one of those practices (which I don't have on the video...I'm sorry).  But it was pretty straigh...
