Thinking of You Handmade Card with Distress Oxide Ink Background and Embossed Rain

Welcome to a new "Cards by Kendra" blog post!

Today, I'm excited to share this "Thinking of You" handmade card that I created during this crazy corona virus social distancing situation we're in.  I created this card for a card swap Facebook Group that I'm in "Card Swaps for All Seasons" and also enter it into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Whatever the Weather".  The theme for the card swap is "Rainy Days". 

I've been experimenting with Distress Oxide Inks lately and have been working on my ink blending skills.  I must've practiced blending on over a dozen pieces of cardstock.  At first, I was kind of freaking out because I invested in a ton of different colors and just couldn't get those harsh lines out.  But the more I did it, the better I got.  The background I used for this card was from one of those practices (which I don't have on the video...I'm sorry).  But it was pretty straight forward. It's not perfect by any mean, but I thought it looked pretty decent to use for a card.  Using my mini ink blending tool, I covered most of the top 3/4's of the card piece with Distress Oxide ink in Stormy Sky. Then I blended in Broken China just at the bottom. The rest of the steps and the supplies used can be found in my YouTube video tutorial:
