Cricut Joy - The Cardmaker's New Best Friend

  • This post contains affiliate links and I received compensation for this post.
  • Can I just tell you how excited I am about the new Cricut Joy machine that will be available March 1, 2020?  As a cardmaker, my craft room is usually pretty messy.  I use every inch of table space (and floor space), so there's not much room for bulky machines.  The new Cricut Joy is just what I've been waiting for!!  Keep reading to learn why Cricut Joy will be your new best friend!

  • Cricut Joy
      WHAT IS CRICUT JOY?
    • Cricut Joy is a brand new, compact machine from Cricut.  It has so many features that you're going to love.  Cricut Joy is small enough to keep almost anywhere, but still gives you many of the same functions as a full size Cricut machine.
    • WHY DO YOU NEED THE CRICUT JOY?
    • Even though I feel like Cricut Joy is great for everyone, it is especially perfect for cardmakers due to it's compact size.  It fits in a cubby, sets up instantly, and packs away easily.  It's portable and ready to go!  It would be great for new crafters who want to get into personalizing things.  With Cricut Joy, you can personalize just about anything using popular materials such as iron-on, cardstock, vinyl, and paper. Cardmakers can create cards for any occasion.  Crafters can make custom labels to organize their pantry, or a decal for a water bottle.  Even if you already own a full sized Cricut machine, this is a perfect companion for your crafting stash.  You can pull it out for quick and easy crafting projects without all the extra crafting mess.
    • Cricut Joy
    • WHAT'S SO SPECIAL ABOUT CRICUT JOY?
    • Cricut Joy can cut a single image up to 4 inches wide and up to 4 feet long! If you are making repeated cuts, it can cut up to 20 feet long using Cricut Smart Materials. That's right....I said 20 FEET!!!  It allows you to draw any shape and it writes in a variety of styles. You can customize a design with a variety of pen types and line weights.  Another great thing?  Matless cutting!! You don't need a 20 foot mat!  When you use Cricut Smart materials, no cutting mat is needed!
    • For certain items, you still need a mat, but they have the coolest mat for making cards!  It's perfectly sized to make cards and they even have card kits so you don't need adhesive!
    • They also have cute Joy sized mats for cutting any non Cricut Smart Materials or pieces of scrap paper that you may have.  They will be available in StandardGrip and LightGrip.
    • Matless cutting is a game changer!  Even though it doesn't take long to lay Iron-on or vinyl on a mat, not having to do it really does save time!  Being able to cut such long lengths is great!  No more having to piece a project together! I can see lots of banners in my future!
    • Cricut Joy has Bluetooth® built in. It’s easy to wirelessly connect your computer, phone, or tablet so you can design anywhere.  With the easy-to-learn app for desktop, iOS and; Android, crafters can use the free Design Space® app on a computer or mobile device to create, save, and share projects.  It also allows you to work offline. You can download images, fonts, and projects so you can design and cut even when you’re not connected to the internet.  Plus you can upload your own designs.  It allows you to use your own images and fonts for free in a variety of standard file formats.
    • Each Cricut machine comes with a project to make to get you started. Plus, it comes with 50 free projects online so you can start creating right away and learn everything the machine can do!
    • You can watch a short introduction video from Cricut below:
    • WHEN CAN I BUY IT AND HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
    • Cricut Joy will be available through Cricut and most retailers on March 1st, 2020. It will have an MSRP of $179.99.
    • I am so excited about this new machine and can't wait to show you more about it and share all sorts of new and fun projects!  If you have any questions I didn't answer about the Cricut Joy or just want to share your excitement about this new crafting product, please leave a comment.
